Seeking Farm Campus!
About a year ago, we started exploring the idea of finding a rural campus. Now, in the midst of a pandemic, and as the Dovetail Cafe & Marketplace continues to grow, it has become clear that the Duluth Folk School is ready to expand!
We’re looking for a large-acreage farm site, not too far from Duluth, where we can grow into the fullness of our long-term vision. We already offer a wide range of classes for the community, including woodworking, baking, weaving, woodworking, gardening, art, small-scale husbandry, jewelry, metalwork, and much more. This will allow us to grow and offer even more!
Our dream vision would include lots of space for gardens, trails, and workshops, a barn, and access to water (ponds, river or lake), a sugar bush, and with room to grow and welcome the community and region! It is our hope that our future farm campus will also allow us to partner with craft and art organizations that don’t currently have good homes of their own. Since we are already so heavily invested in our Lincoln Park location, we hope to find a partner or a special arrangement that will allow us to begin offering classes at this new location using mostly sweat equity.
If you know a farmer who is ready to be done, and whose family isn’t interested in taking over the family farm, please let us know!

How large of a farm? We have 40 acres 12 miles south of Superior – barn is 35′ x 70′ – 3 artesian ponds – comes with several pieces of equipment – tractors, chicken coops & more.
