Class Topics
Hundreds of different classes have been taught at Duluth Folk School since our founding. Our classes support our mission of “building community through joyful experiences of handcrafting, art, and gathering.”
For example, here are some class topics that have been offered before:
- woodworking, sewing, foraging, painting, printmaking, upcycling, preservation, outdoor skills, music, cooking, baking, plant care, natural history, paper arts, beading, sustainability, herbalism, and weaving

What is Duluth Folk School’s role?
Duluth Folk School makes it as easy as possible for you to teach a class, so you can focus on that class. We support classes and instructors by:
- offering a welcoming and supportive infrastructure for participants and instructors
- providing classroom space that fits with your topic, including a commercial kitchen
- providing a host on the day of class
- advertising your course
- handling registrations and payments
- providing liability insurance
