Duluth Folk School Interviewed on WTIP
Bryan here. A few weeks ago, one of the announcers up at WTIP, an excellent radio station up in Grand Marais, called me and said he wanted to talk about ‘this new Duluth Folk School’ he’d been hearing about.
On the one hand, I’m always excited for an opportunity to talk about the Duluth Folk School! On the other hand, since Grand Marais is home to the North House Folk School, I wanted to be clear that we had nothing but praise for the North House Folk School. We didn’t create the Duluth Folk School with the idea of supplanting them or to try to take over their business – we were inspired by what they have done, and we wanted people in Duluth to have a similar opportunity.
Here’s a link to WTIP’s story:
It has been very heartening, for both the folks at the North House Folk School and the Ely Folk School to have reached out to us and given us virtual high fives.
We have a long way to go before we are as established in the hearts and minds of the people of Duluth, but the longest journey starts with a single step. We are very excited to be on this path!
