Dana Gilbertson

When not at work I spend most of my time outdoors around the Duluth region. I learned foraging early on snacking on basswood leaves, dandelions, red columbine flowers, and berries when playing outside. As an adult I’ve found joy in identifying plants and finding new recipes and ways to prepare wild foods. I run a instagram account related to my foraging in the north shore region called @northshoreforager – through this account I realized how hungry people are for guided foraging classes and learning about the natural world around them.

When not foraging I enjoy paddling in the Boundary Waters, backpacking, crocheting, taking folk school classes, basket weaving, hanging with my pets, and being a life long learner.
