Scandinavian Fiddle Tradition

Are you interested in the fiddle music of Scandinavia? During this class, you will be introduced to the types of tunes from Finland, Sweden and Norway, and learn a few to take home!

All melodic players welcome, although we will be focusing on fiddle ornamentation and style. If you have experience with harmony, guitars and accordionists are also welcome to join!

Registration Includes

We’ll be playing and learning in a group setting. By the end of class, everyone will gain a broad overview of the Nordic fiddling tradition, and will learn two tunes to add to their repertoire!

You should bring…

Bring your instrument, a tuner, writing utensil/paper, recording device (smartphones work for this)

Skill Level

You should have at least a high beginner level of technique on your instrument.
