Join us for a 3 hour introduction to the craft of greenwood spoon carving. You will finish the class with your own hand carved serving spoon. For the first part of class we will study safety, knife grips and traditional techniques for carving. For the rest of the class you will apply what you have learned to transform the spoon blank provided into your completed spoon.

Registration Includes

All tools and supplies will be provided. Students will go home with their own hand carved serving or cooking spoon.

What goes into our class pricing? As a local nonprofit, Duluth Folk School is committed to supporting both our instructors and community. We want to compensate our instructors fairly, keep class sizes small, and keep our doors open—while also keeping prices as low as we can.

Student Requirements

  • Skill Level/Prerequisite Skills: This class is for anyone
  • Best for Age: 13 and older
  • You should bring: Wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting full of wood chips and closed toed shoes. All tools and supplies provided.
