Introduction to Handplanes

Hand planes have been employed by woodworkers for millenia, representing one of the most important tools in woodcraft. During this course, students will have the opportunity to connect with countless craftspeople through time by learning to sharpen, adjust, and put planes to work. Students will use a Bailey-pattern bench plane and a block plane to dimension and shape stock to make a simple sandwich board.
