Introduction to Felting
- Introduction to Felting
November 12, 2016
12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
Felt is an incredibly durable, beautiful, and useful fabric. From saddle pads to yurt walls, and from boots to travel bags, felt has been an integral part of the everyday life of nomadic herding cultures of Central Asia.
In this class we will talk about some of the stories and traditions of felt making, while also learning how to craft felt for use in our own homes. This introductory course will focus on coasters, trivets, place-mats or hot pads, depending on interest. We will be wet-felting our projects from carded wool. During this process the wool shrinks 40%, all done by hand, so please come prepared to be on your feet and physically engaged in your project.
