December 11, 2019
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Want to learn to start playing banjo? This class is for you! Instructor, and local musician, Kyle Ollah is teaching a class for folks with not much (or any!) experience playing banjo. You don’t have to worry about theory or reading music – you’ll learn how to pick, learn a few chords and you’ll be making music in no time.
Join us as we dig into the the five string banjo and its role in this music. We will learn basic old-time banjo picking techniques, tunings, tunes, and also listen to some great recordings! You do NOT need to read music – we’ll be teaching through call and response, and learning to play by ear. We’ll learn to finger a few easy chords on a banjo and play a song along with a group.
