Floral Magic Design

In this introduction to floral design class, you will work with locally grown flowers to learn about the proper processing of stems and core elements to design, with the goal of developing the skills to create full and well-balanced (and sometimes wild) arrangements.

You will learn about the intricacies of each flower variety to better understand their needs as a cut flower, as well as the inspiring elements they can bring to your designs. By the end of class, you will have a better understanding of the fundamental design basics to apply to all your future floral design desires.

Registration Includes

Vases, tools, and locally grown flowers will be provided ($60 value). Participants will learn the fundamentals to floral design work, as well as key elements of the flowers used, and will take home their own floral arrangement made entirely with locally grown fresh flowers.

What goes into our class pricing? As a local nonprofit, Duluth Folk School is committed to supporting both our instructors and community. We want to compensate our instructors fairly, keep class sizes small, and keep our doors open—while also keeping prices as low as we can.

• Skill Level/Prerequisite Skills: A love for flowers! All skills needed will be taught in class.

• You should bring: All you will need to bring is your love for all things floral! Vases and tools will be provided.
