Create Your Own Apron
-
August 5, 2017
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Now that we’ve been running classes for a while, we’ve noticed that occasionally, people will bring their own aprons to class, to wear and keep their clothes from getting dirty. Some of the aprons we’ve seen have been store-bought, but some have been handmade. Well, as you can imagine, “handmade” gets us pretty excited! We got inspired and worked on a design with Sasha Howell, who runs the Costume Shop at St. Scholastica.
During this class, you will learn the basics of sewing while making your very own denim apron!
You will get a brief overview of using a sewing machine and learn what tools are needed for basic sewing projects. You will also learn a little about sewing denim and be able to customize it with embellishments. You’ll then use your skills to create your own apron out of recycled jeans.
We will have sewing machines you can use.

Hello to Sasha Howell –
Ann Gumpper gave me your name recently.
1. Would you be able to help with face painting on Sat., June 9, at the Coppertop Church for the Duluth Monarch Festival? It is from 10-2. I have two face painters signed up, but would love one more expert. You could face paint from 10-noon or noon-2 or the entire festival from 10-2. Please let me know if you’re interested and available…or if you can recommend another face painter. Thanks! 🙂
2. Will you hold another apron-making class during 2018 or 2019? I’d love to sign up! Thank you!
