Sasha Howell
I am a costume and fashion designer by trade and an artist at heart. I have always had an interest in self expression through clothing and have been making my own clothing and accessories my whole life. I learned officially how to sew about 10 years ago and worked in and around costume shops for the past 8 years. I enjoy jewelry-making and craft projects of all sorts, but I strive to be a lifelong learner. I am more of a jack of all trades, and an expert (in the making) in the area of apparel and costume design. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and can’t resist a super cool art collaboration with other artists.
I teach students how to sew at The College of St. Scholastica on a daily basis. We learn how to use a sewing machine, how to read a pattern, and the techniques and intricacies of hand sewing, creating texture and structure, and expressing character through clothing.
