Terry Hamp
I began in my early teens to work with my hands, having learned sewing and crocheting from my grandmothers, who both instilled within me the lifelong love to create, a force which carries through to today.
I am self-taught with wool and fibers, spinning, weaving and most recently, felting. My need to remain stimulated creatively has also led me to jewelry making in the last ten years, some components of which (specifically bead work) have made their way into my felted creations.
I find working with my hands gives me great satisfaction and each product I create motivates me to explore further into a variety of art and craft fields. Since retiring from a 40 year career in teaching I have joined the Duluth Fiber Guild where I am a member of the Felting Study Group.
