Sam Guida

Author of Galls, Burls and Brooms of the North Woods. Sam has always enjoyed spending time outdoors and helping people explore the world around them. One winter day while wandering the driveway, he noticed a funny looking willow tree. After some investigation, (and dissection) it turned out to be a gall caused by a tiny critter with a huge name; The Willow Beaked Gall Midge. This surprise encounter started Sam’s journey into the lilliputian world of galls, and he has been finding lumps on leaves, funny shaped flowers and bumps on buds ever since!
