Michelle Carlson

I’ve been painting since 1992 learning from other Gold Medal Rosemalers connected with the Vesterheim. I’ve learned many of the Rosemaling styles including Telemark, Rogaland, Os, Hallingdahl, Vest Agder and Gudbrandsdal. I’ve won many awards for my artwork and this summer finished a Vesterhiem Apprenticeship. Over the years, I’ve been a long time member of the TPRS Twin Ports Rosemaling Society and WSRA Wisconsin State Rosemaling Association. These organizations keep the Norwegian heritage alive by sharing the folk art and history.
