Kristin Riker-Coleman

One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to visit my Bapcie (grandma) and learn to sew and knit things. A professional tailor by trade, my Bapcie would watch the fashion trends and then try to replicate them for a fraction of the cost. I took almost 10 years off from sewing anything until a mentor at my first job gifted me a used sewing machine and I took off again. I use sewing and knitting to keep my hands busy and calm my brain. My kids adore the items I make for them (usually).

Trained as a PhD geochemist, I’m a high school science teacher by day. I live in Duluth with my family where we try hard to pretend we’re natives (50% of us are!).
