Alethea Montgomery

I come from a long line of creative makers. I didn’t realize the uniqueness until I had my parents ship my grandmother’s sewing machine to me while I was in the Air Force. I couldn’t fathom paying for someone else to sew my stripes and patches on my uniform and thus I started a little tailoring business in the barracks.

Fast forward many years and I’m no longer sewing patches and pockets onto military uniforms, instead you’ll find me crocheting, knitting, drafting patterns for my own hand made wardrobe, or teaching the next generation of mini and big makers in my sewing school, Sew Duluth.
