Louise Levy
My introduction to cross country skiing began in 1976 when my family moved to Duluth from the Deep South. I loved racing from an early age, skiing in citizen races on the Lester golf course, Jay Cook State Park, on the high school and college teams, and during graduate school in Oregon.
Upon returning to Duluth in the late 1990s, I developed an interest in coaching. Eventually I learned about the Professional Ski Instructors of America and through PSIA became a Level III certified cross-country ski instructor with a strong foundation in movement analysis. I use a patient, personalized approach to helping skiers of all levels improve and refine their technique and confidence on snow. I pay particular attention to identifying movement patterns with clear and effective guidance that leads to real progress, whether you’re classic striding or skate skiing.
When winter ends, I continue working in the outdoors as a certified arborist and mountain bike coach, bringing the same attention to movement, flow, and safety to the forest floor and the trails. This year-round connection to nature fuels a well-rounded approach to coaching – rooted in skill, awareness, and joy.
Off the trail, you will likely find me reading cookbooks like novels, experimenting in the kitchen, working in my yard, or making my way through the Inspector Gamache series by Quebec author Louise Penny.
