Ken Gilbertson

Ken Gilbertson is an emeritus professor of environmental & outdoor at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). Ken has been planning trips – and teaching students how to plan trips for around 50 years. He has worked as a wilderness canoe guide (Sommers Canoe Base), and Outward Bound Instructor, Portage and Fire Crews in the BWCAW for the USFS, and as a wilderness educator in and about the BWCAW for the UMD Outdoor Program and the undergraduate & graduate programs in Environmental and Outdoor Education at UMD. You are invited to join Ken to learn details on how to plan your own Boundary Waters canoe trip. The knowledge and skills will certainly apply to other wilderness areas as well.
