I am a librarian by trade and a crafter at heart. I am currently located in North St. Paul, but I was born and raised in Brainerd, MN, and draw inspiration from the “Up North” lifestyle and natural aesthetics. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology and Scandinavian Studies, and I was fortunate enough to study in Sweden twice during my time at Gustavus Adolphus College. This was a life-changing experience for me, and my group stayed at several different folk schools throughout Sweden, including those in Jokkmokk, Mora, and Jönköping.
I have always been artistic, but it was only after I finished my Masters in Library Science that I discovered my love of cross stitch and took a deep dive into crafting. I have shared this passion in the public library setting, where I have taught classes on cross stitch, Bargello embroidery, and paper crafts over several years. I especially love playing with color, using recycled materials (especially books!), and drawing on themes related to libraries, cats, and hygge (the art of being cozy). Cross stitching is my favorite means of relaxation, especially on chilly evenings sitting beside my husband and senior cat, Frieda.
