Useful Knot Tying – SOLD OUT

  • Knots - Tie it up, Tie it down!
     January 13, 2018
     12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

Knots are part of life even if it’s just tying your shoes! Ropes, lines, cords, string, twine, are all part of our lives and knots enable us to use them whether it’s to tie up the dog, tying a boat to a dock or climbing a mountain.

Useful Knot Tying

In this class, you will learn to tie some of the most basic knots, starting with the granddaddy of them all, the square knot. We’ll then move on to other knots like the sheet bend, the bowline and more. You will be given some rope as soon you arrive and you will start tying knots. Really, you can’t help it. It’s as natural as breathing! And you will learn, help, share or find yourself with ten thumbs. It’s like gathering around a campfire.

Tying Knots with Tom Swanstrom

Knowing knots is one thing but using them to their best advantage is the best part. Tying things up, tying things down, tying things together, making things safer or just making things with rope is what it’s all about and it’s always a lot of fun!

Feedback from previous knot classes with Tom:

– I really liked the personalized instruction – we were able to ask for specific suggestions for knots that would fit our needs, and if we weren’t getting something the instructor went over it with us individually until we got it.

– I love that we were learning things that we can use for camping.
