Speed Friending

SPEED FRIENDING returns at Dovetail Cafe! Everyone will meet everyone one-on-one. By the time we finish, we’ll all have more acquaintances than we did before! Hurray!

Whether you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert, young or old, from near or far, or someone in-between all those — we want you to come! Everyone is welcome to these friendly and facilitated events.

Q. What is Speed Friending?
A. Speed Friending is like Speed Dating, only better! We talk to someone one-on-one for a few minutes. When the host yells “SWITCH!”, we rotate chairs and talk to someone else one-on-one. We do this until everyone has met everyone!

Q. Is the goal to make friends?
A. Maybe! But the focus isn’t on finding new “best friends” — it’s about casually meeting a wide variety of new people. We’re foremost helping neighbors meet neighbors!
There’s no pressure to “make friends.” We’re just making casual connections!

Q. Meeting lots of people quickly sounds scary. Is it scary?
A. Nope! Most people who come — including introverts — find this to be a accessible, rewarding, and interesting way of connecting with others. You probably will too!

Q. How much does it cost?
A. It’s free! (Although feel free to grab a drink from Dovetail Cafe before or after.
