Your chance is here! Learn how to make a fully-lined drawstring pouch that is perfect for a Renaissance Faire, a vintage costume, or a gift!

This is a great way to use a favorite piece of fabric that isn’t big enough to make into something wearable or that skirt/shirt you’d never wear but you love the fabric.

Students will finish with a completed pouch and the pattern to make many more. Pouches are fully lined and have 52″ straps to allow for secure cross body wear or for tying to a belt.

  • Basic machine sewing skills are necessary.
  • Portable sewing machine. A limited number of sewing machines may be available to borrow. If you need one, please email info@duluthfolkschool.com
  • 2/3 yards of a fabric that you’d like to make your bag from (preferably woven cotton; no knits, slippery fabric or overly thick fabric). This amount will be enough for pouch and lining. If a different lining is desired, then another 2/3 yard of that fabric will be needed. If you have a skirt, shirt, curtain or similar item, bring it in and we will cut it to size. Some lining fabric will be available from instructor.
