Leathercraft Basics

Come join our 3-hour class where you’ll craft your own leather slip wallet. Designed for beginners, this class requires no previous experience and all materials are included.
We’ll talk briefly about types of tanned leather, the basic tools necessary, and saddle stitching. After choosing your piece of leather you’ll cut, punch, and hand stitch a simple durable accessory.
Along with your personalized item, take home the foundational skills to a rewarding hobby.
Registration Includes
Learn how to layout, mark, punch, and saddle stitch a simple leather project. Take home a pocket slip style card wallet and knowledge to plan your own future projects.
What goes into our class pricing? As a local nonprofit, Duluth Folk School is committed to supporting both our instructors and community. We want to compensate our instructors fairly, keep class sizes small, and keep our doors open—while also keeping prices as low as we can.

- Skill Level/Prerequisite Skills: This class is for anyone.
- Best for Ages: 18 and older
- You should bring: You don’t need to bring anything but some students like to bring paper and something to write with.

The Library is upstairs in the Duluth Folk School/Dovetail Cafe building.

Note: The Library is up one flight of stairs, and we do not have an elevator.
