A Well-Oiled Machine: Learn to Sew
September 10, 2017
2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Learn to love your sewing machine! In this class, we’ll take an up-close look at several different sewing machines, of varying designs and ages.

How do all these moving parts work together? Learn the things your manual will – and won’t! – tell you. You’ll observe using a machine incorrectly on purpose to see what goes wrong, and how to recover. Threading, stitching, changing needles, cleaning/oiling, tension, and belts will all be explained.
To be clear: this is not a sewing class, it is a machine class. You’ll have plenty of time to experiment on lots of different styles and ages of machine. By the end, you’ll be more confident in exploring and fixing your own machine!
Participants may sit or stand at various times during the class.
