This six-hour class is for absolute beginners, to introduce people with little or no experience, to the essential tools and processes of woodcraft and the wood shop.

You will learn the safe and proper use of tools, including the table saw, miter saw, jig saw, planer and drills. You will gain comfort and confidence, and build valuable skills that you’ll be able to apply at home, or use for further study.

In this class, we will work on accurate measurement and preparation of parts, as you build a Shaker-style tool tray that you can take home. We’ll discuss common finishes and how to apply them.
