I am a biologist and entomologist, and owner of Junebug Bee Farm. I’ve been fascinated by insects since I was very young, and started studying them professionally several years ago as a technician in a native pollinator lab. Yet my enthusiasm for the critters goes beyond the work-week, and I have found several ways to explore their biology in related hobbies like insect illustration, woodworking, and gardening.
I’ve reared all sorts of insects, most recently crickets (ask me about cricket flour cupcakes!), monarch butterflies, mason bees, bumble bees, and I also keep several honey bee hives. I love teaching people about bees and other insects, and hope that someday soon ‘bee-ing’ is the new ‘birding.’
