We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

Using Nancy Lindberg’s Hats That Fit pattern as a base, this two-part class will help you to design and knit the ideal winter hat for you or someone you would like to keep warm. The first class will go over inspiration materials, determine what yarn(s) you would like to use, and draw out your design. Some students may be ready to cast on. The second class will be used to problem solve, work on your projects, and do some show and tell with those who have completed projects. Students will be working in the round and will learn how to read a chart, choose colors, and may learn a new basic skill (cables, colorwork, lace pattern(s)) depending on your design. Since hats are a great way to use scrap yarn, bring your small balls of “I don’t know what to do with this” to class – they are great for inspiration and swapping!

Registration Includes

Students will go home with a design and (time dependent) a knitted hat of your own design. You will also have the skill to design hats for any size and yarn moving forward.

You should bring…

Tablet, pencil (colored if you have them), measuring tape, any yarn (including scrap yarn) you would like to consider for your design and/or offer to others for their project.

If you know what primary yarn you would like to use, bring a 16″ circular needle and double pointed needles in the size for that yarn. If you do not know what yarn you would like to use, that’s OK. Once you do, you will need to purchase needles for your chosen fiber.

Optional, but helpful: snips/scissors, yarn/finishing needle.
