  •  March 28, 2020
     10:00 am - 4:00 pm

This class is part of our Women in Woodworking series. Watch for more classes in this series.

This class is for absolute beginners, to introduce people with little or no experience, to the essential tools and processes of woodcraft and the wood shop.

You will learn the safe and proper use of tools, including the table saw, miter saw, jig saw, planer and drills. You will gain comfort and confidence, and build valuable skills that you’ll be able to apply at home, or use for further study.

In this class, we will work on accurate measurement and preparation of parts, as you build a Shaker-style tool tray that you can take home. We’ll discuss common finishes and how to apply them.

Shaker Style‘ emphasizes simplicity, clean lines and basic forms. It is known for being practical and simple down to the smallest detail.

The atmosphere of this class will be friendly, supportive and empowering. All learning styles and paces are welcome. This class is for women, and for those that identify as non-binary.
