During this class, join instructors Alison Aune and Rachel Johnson for a Swedish folk art workshop! They will present a brief history of the Swedish painted horse, often referred to as a Dala Horse. You will look at and discuss traditional and contemporary kurbit designs (fanciful flowers) for inspiration. Rachel will describe the process for carving the wooden horses and Alison will share tips and techniques for painting your very own Minnesota dalahäst! You will make your own creative interpretations, as we revive this tradition using a contemporary color palette!
We will take a mid-class break for lunch.
