Come on down for our free monthly Spoken Word Open Mic!
The spoken word, ever-meant to be heard, reminds us we’re largely made up of stories and poems, to hear and be heard. Join us each month for a special theme and take part in poetry and build-a-story games, while we gather to hear what others wish to share. Whether simply to hear or to be heard, eloquence is an expression in need of both.
This month’s theme will be a consideration of how we harvest, along with the old adage of reaping what we sow. Bring your reflections on another fruitful season – or was it one of famine? Bring your tales, poems, and raps to feast upon the works to be heard, as new seeds sprout best from well-tended ground.
There will be opportunity for folks to get up and recite a prepared piece, or just sit back and enjoy the flow of words.
Venue: Duluth Folk School Main Hall
Located on street level. Handicapped accessible.
