Before the Betse & Clarke concert later this same day, Betse Ellis will be offering a fiddle master class!
Great fiddlers develop an inherent understanding of how to utilize their bow. Legendary old time fiddlers and their recordings exhibit extraordinary bowing styles, and we gain much from studying how these fiddlers made the sounds they produced. Magnifying the tiny aspects of a larger picture brings illumination to the whole. Learn how to recognize the sound of iconic bowing elements, and even better, how to make it intrinsic to your style!

Instruction and lots of opportunities to play and learn!
Skill Level
Open to all levels; beginners, if it moves along faster than you can keep up with, you’ll get lots of ideas for practice.

Bring your fiddle and bow, and bring a recorder of some kind, ideally video (phone recording is fine).
