There is more to riding a bike than getting on and pedaling away!
In this encouraging class, a certified League Cycling Instructor will provide tips and techniques for increasing your confidence and safety on the road, discuss creative ways to make bicycling fit into your lifestyle, and cover technical topics such as traffic law, bicycle safety, gear and equipment, route planning, and basic bike maintenance.
This class is part of Zeitgeist’s Bus Bike Walk Duluth, which is a month-long series of community events that celebrates, educates and encourages people-powered modes of getting around – for work, errands, recreation, shopping, and school. For complete event listing of Bus Bike Walk events, visit …(we are still setting up a URL).
You will leave with the confidence to give biking as transportation a try. You’ll be equipped with knowledge of bicycle traffic laws, and practical techniques that increase safety on the road, such as where to position you bike in the travel lane. You will also leave with creative ideas about fitting bicycling into your lifestyle, whether occasionally riding to the grocery store, or riding to work every day. You will also leave with a set of bicycle lights, the Minnesota Bicycling Handbook and Bicycle Traffic Law cards for future reference, and information about future events, group rides, and other resources to support a bicycling lifestyle!
