You will learn how to build a custom fishing rod either by placing and finishing guides on an already handled rod, or you can bring your own rod that needs new guide(s) on it (or other repairs). You will keep the completed rod from the provided sections, at the end of class.

Repair Fishing Rod at the Duluth Folk School

You will learn how to build and repair/rebuild rods by starting from the blank, handle, and guide components. Ultralight to medium powered spinning sections will be selected by the students to complete.

Registration Includes

Instruction and all materials (we’ll have new one-piece light 6′ rods, or recycled two-piece 5.5′ to 7.5′ rods you can use). You will go home with the know-how to attach and finish guides on a rod wrapping machine, and repair/rebuild fishing rods, and you’ll leave with one completed spinning rod.
