Peg Loom Weaving
-
November 2, 2022
5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
In this class, you will build your peg loom, and then use it to create a woven chair mat! Get one more use out of those T-shirts that just aren’t suitable for wearing in public any more! Peg looms are simple to use, and small enough to store easily when they aren’t in use.
This is a great introduction to weaving, without all the complications of a more traditional mechanical loom. During class we’ll start by cutting T-shirts into loops, then we’ll use yarn to warp the loom, and by the end of class you’ll have a chair mat to take home with you, a peg loom of your own, and the skill necessary to turn all your old T-shirts into practical and nice looking rag rugs.
Registration Includes
Class includes all instruction, and $50 worth of materials to make your own peg loom in class! By the end of class, you’ll go home with your very own peg loom, along with the chair mat that we’ll make during class.
You should bring…
Three or four old T-shirts (or other used clothing made of knit material, such as leggings) and a pair of scissors sharp enough to cut up those T-shirts.
