Have you ever asked yourself… ‘How can I take those cool aurora photos I see on Facebook, and what settings should I use on my DSLR? How do you know when and where to go?’
In this class, you will learn those answers! In a classroom setting, we will discuss camera settings, we’ll about aurora resources, and we’ll talk about practical tips you can use the next time you’re out in the field. You will learn everything you need for producing images that you can proudly hang on your wall!
This class takes place in the classroom (not outside).
Registration Includes
You will learn step by step how to use your DSLR camera/lens, focus and proper settings for Aurora photography, where to capture the northern lights in Minnesota, but most important… how to predict and when to venture out analyzing the data on spaceweatherlive.com. As an added bonus, you will also learn Lightroom settings for processing your images of the Northern Lights, and other tips and tricks.
Skill Level
You should have experience with, and be comfortable using a DSLR in manual mode.
Best for Ages…
18 years or older.
You should bring…
- Any DSLR camera. You must know how to change your ISO, shutter speed, and aperture.
- Bring your widest angle lens, ideally 24mm or wider and with an aperture of f3.5.
