Nature-Inspired Block Printing

This class will provide steps and skills for creating your own linoleum block prints with an emphasis on drawing from nature as inspiration.
The instructor will introduce the basics of printmaking, and, if requested, demonstrate the multiple block method for creating a print with more than one color. Students may also use watercolor paints (provided) for adding color to their final prints.
Registration Includes
Instruction and all materials. By the end of class, you’ll go home with one to three 3″ x 4″ (and possibly 1 larger) re-usable linoleum blocks carved with your design, and notecards and/or prints of your designs.
Skill Level
No prior experience needed
Best for Ages…
13 and older.
You should bring…
Bring your ideas or pre-drawn drafts (think black and white: positive/negative space) for note card sized prints (3″ x 4″). Some larger blocks will be available for students who want a challenge in 5″ x 7″ (mounted linoleum) or 4″ x 6″.
