Flee the Fire is the Minneapolis-based duo of John Lane (Ginstrings) and Matt Cartier (Pert’ Near Sandstone). Brought together by their shared roots in Missouri traditional fiddling, they trace a winding path through old-time fiddle tunes, blues, jugband songs, bluegrass, and original material. Trading back and forth on fiddle, guitar and banjo, they evoke the sounds of an america before the jukebox, when everyone made their own music.
