Lake Superior Surfing

Come learn the basics of surfing on the big lake! This class will give you an overview of surfing history, methods, safety, locations, and gear. The instructor will explain the parts of a surfboard and what gear you need for lake conditions. This course is classroom based, and you will leave with the knowledge of how to get started with surfing on Lake Superior!

You go home with the knowledge of how to get started with surfing on Lake Superior.
What goes into our class pricing? As a local nonprofit, Duluth Folk School is committed to supporting both our instructors and community. We want to compensate our instructors fairly, keep class sizes small, and keep our doors open—while also keeping prices as low as we can.

- Skill Level/Prerequisite Skills: This class is for anyone.
- Best for Ages: 18 and older
- You should bring: A notebook and something to write with if you would like to take notes.
