Introduction to Hand Planes

  •  January 17, 2023
     6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

Come learn how traditional hand planes can complement any wood shop. Whether you’ve got a shop full of the best power tools, or you’re just getting started, hand planes can save you time, produce better results, and make your woodworking pursuits a little more peaceful.

In this class, you’ll learn all about traditional woodworking hand planes, with an emphasis on hands-on practice. We will begin class exploring different types of planes and how they are used, and then we will go into the parts, basic tuning, and proper use.  Each person will practice techniques by planing and shaping wood, all while making some beautiful shavings.  By the time you are done, you will have the skills to make a board smooth and square. This will be an interactive class with photos, videos, a presentation, and lots of hands-on opportunities.
