From Wool to Bear introduces knitters to the wonderful world of softies and knitted stuffed animals. In this class, you will receive instruction on the technical aspects of 3D knitting, toy safety, and ensuring softie longevity, as well as support and mentorship while working on your bear.

You will use a provided basic bear pattern, with the option to customize with color or even clothing to make your softie your own. After learning the techniques and gaining confidence, you’ll be able to knit any softie you fall in love with from a pattern book or website.

Students will be provided with the knitting pattern and stuffing material, and have the option to purchase materials (yarn and needles) from the instructor.

Registration Includes

You end the course with a 14” bear softie, equipped with the skills to make more.

What goes into our class pricing? As a local nonprofit, Duluth Folk School is committed to supporting both our instructors and community. We want to compensate our instructors fairly, keep class sizes small, and keep our doors open—while also keeping prices as low as we can.

Thank you for participating in our local handcraft and education economy! Together, we help keep Duluth a fun and vibrant place.
