Beginner Embroidery: Making an Embroidered Needle Book

Embroidery work is an old art form used both to decorate and to repair. Recently, embroidery has made a major resurgence. Designs are showing up on everything from traditional folk garments to modern runways.
In this class, you’ll learn the basics of embroidery including different materials to use and how they interact, learn 10 different stitches, and create a needle case, a traditional holder for your embroidery needles.
Registration Includes
Students will go home with an embroidered felt needle case, instructions for a variety stitches, and the knowledge to create more embroidered pieces at home.
What goes into our class pricing? As a local nonprofit, Duluth Folk School is committed to supporting both our instructors and community. We want to compensate our instructors fairly, keep class sizes small, and keep our doors open—while also keeping prices as low as we can.

Student Requirements
- Skill Level/Prerequisite Skills: This class is for anyone.
- Best for Age: 13 and older
- You should bring: Scissors and a pencil and paper for notes.
