In this workshop, we will discuss ways to develop a writing habit and how to find inspiration for new poems. We will talk about some elements of poetry that make great poems and how we view our own work as compared to that of poets we enjoy reading. There will be some writing prompts and in-class writing time, but the majority of time will be spent sharing our work, receiving and offering feedback in a sensitive but honest way and honing our skills in editing poems toward completion. At students request, resources will also be provided regarding where one can send poems for publication.
