Chasing the Northern Lights

Have you ever asked yourself… ‘How can I take those cool aurora photos I see on Facebook, and what settings should I use on my DSLR? How do you know when and where to go?’

In this class, you will learn those answers! In a classroom setting, we will discuss camera settings, we’ll about aurora resources, and we’ll talk about practical tips when you’re out in the field.

This class takes place in the classroom (not outside).

Registration Includes

You will go home with a new addiction to chasing and photographing the northern lights!

Skill Level

You should have experience with, and be comfortable using a DSLR in manual mode

Best for Ages…

18 years or older

You should bring…

  • Any DSLR camera. You must know how to change your ISO, shutter speed, and aperture
  • Bring your widest angle lens, ideally 24mm or wider and with an aperture of f3.5
  • Sturdy tripod
