Learn how to carve a realistic human face in wood that will take on a hidden personality as you carve, just like this one, carved from basswood:
You will learn about getting facial proportions right, how to start roughing it out and how to finish it. Everyone will go home with one or more (up to 3) carved faces.

Registration Includes
Instruction, practice materials, carving blanks (basswood). There is a registration option that includes all tools you’ll need for class.

You should bring…
- Definitely:
- Small to medium size gouge/chisel set
- #11 X-Acto knife with extra blades and handles
- A mallet (any size up to 20 oz) can be handy (mallets have wooden or rubber heads)
- Useful but not required:
- Regular straight chisels are also useful (one 1/2″ chisel would be sufficient for this class)
Also, you are welcome to bring a bag lunch, or buy lunch from the Dovetail Cafe (the folk school’s in-house cafe!)
