In this class, you will spend almost two months building an Appalachian Egg Basket! Together we will make hoops, weave rosettes to anchor the frame, and then add ribs to build out the frame.

From partial basket to complete!
We need to spend so much time incrementally weaving the baskets closed to allow sufficient time for the willow weavers to dry and firm up. Finally we will learn “packing” and “finishing” of our baskets in order to produce an extremely durable, useful and beautiful basket.
While each 2 hour class will have a specific focus, there may also be time to practice already learned skills and begin construction of a second or third basket. The instructor will provide the natural materials needed for each of the first two meetings and then participants will be charged with gathering materials for completion of their baskets.
