Blomma Lycka (Flower Happiness)

The class will begin with an informal tour of the Blomma Lycka (Flower Happiness) exhibition on display at the Folk School.
During the class, we will look at, and discuss, traditional Nordic and Baltic textile patterns and symbolism found in my paintings as inspiration. Then I will demonstrate my mixed media collage painting technique and guide students in the creation of their own mixed media paintings inspired by cultural patterns and flowers!
Registration Includes
Students will learn how to compose a mixed media painting on canvas using cultural patterns and painting from floral still lives.

You should bring…
Paper copies of cultural patterns, textiles, and symbolic artifacts to collage into your compositions. Smocks/aprons are a good idea too!
