We are excited to offer a class taught by master timber framer Gerald David. (You’ve probably seen the iconic cabin inside Duluth Folk School: that was build by Gerald!)

This class is meant to familiarize you with the bread and butter basics of the timber framing trade. The series of 6 weeks of Fridays will be  highly focused sessions on how to produce the joinery that makes up 90% of timber framing.

You will lay out common variations of mortises, tenons and lap joints and discuss their applications. You will learn the use of variations of power tools and hand tools to cut the joints efficiently.

The last sessions will apply those skills to a small collaboratively built frame.
