Aurora Photography 101

In this class, you’ll learn everything from A-to-Z about aurora photography, including how to use your full frame camera, set up, initial settings, and understanding the data on SpaceWeatherLive. If time permits, beginning editing, and Lightroom will be covered.
Registration Includes
You go home with lecture notes, and the ability to know when, where and how to capture stunning aurora images. For those with some experience, you will learn tips and tricks from eight years of intense chasing.
What goes into our class pricing? As a local nonprofit, Duluth Folk School is committed to supporting both our instructors and community. We want to compensate our instructors fairly, keep class sizes small, and keep our doors open—while also keeping prices as low as we can.

- Skill Level/Prerequisite Skills: The ability to change manual settings on their camera
- Best for Ages: 18 and older

Note: The Library is up one flight of stairs, and we do not have an elevator.

I have a 5/3 sensor camera. Can I attend?

Will this class go over how to take pictures on your phone for those who don’t have an actual camera?
The class is specific for full frame cameras, however, you will also learn about when and where to chase the aurora.
I would love to attend but only have a phone camera. Is that allowed?
