How to Save Seeds and Get the Kids to Help You: A Workshop for Grown-ups Who Like to Garden and, Simultaneously, Spend Time with Kids
Saving seeds from flowers and vegetables in your garden is a traditional skill that’s easy to reclaim. Make it even more satisfying by including kids! Seed saving is a delightful way to draw children into the wonder and life of the garden. Sharing it with them will awaken new wonder in you as well.
Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, school teacher, mentor or friendly neighbor, I will teach you the basics of seed saving and how to include youngsters of any age at every step of the process.
The class will include basic flower and seed anatomy, pollination 101, tips on easy-to-grow flowers and veg, and seed saving crafts for you and the kids.
NOTE: Although the material is partly about kids, this class is for adults.
You will go home with a hand-painted seed-saving jar (jars and paints provided), the knowledge and confidence to save seeds, a booklet of instructions, crafts, songs and inspiration for saving seeds with children.
